The American dream of baseball is alive and well at Cal Poly and in San Luis Obispo County, with a baseball/softball complex set as the first phase of a master plan designed to be the focal point for recreational activities in the county.  The initial phase of the project includes the Ozzie Smith baseball stadium and a softball stadium.  In addition, to accommodate the expanding athletic population and a critical need for fields in the area, there will be six lighted soccer fields, three lighted softball fields and a lighted baseball field for use by intramural and community athletic groups.
