The challenge to the architect was to "provide all pool facilities for top competition at many levels of training." It was evident that the ultimate safety and utility for the pool complex would be one which contained 3 separate pools. The largest of the three pools is the 50 meter by 25 yard competition pool with area for water polo and water ballet. The second or deep pool is designed to accommodate all diving events up to and including 10 meter platform diving. The multi-purpose shallow water pool is designed for instructional swimming for all ages, to serve as a warm-up pool for competitors and to provide for special needs of the handicapped. |
