Fresno, CA  -  1991
The building responds to the clients request that the building have a strong presence to passing motorists and a clear sense of entry, to both pedestrians and vehicles.  The architectural response to the program makes the most of the common lo-maintenance materials characteristic of the industrial and agricultural structures found nearby.  The use of the masonry trim accents provides a strong impression from the street through attention to detailing and honest expression of the materials.  Overhangs and sunscreens on the south and west control undesirable heat gain and glare.  Splayed building corners and positioning of exterior walls direct cooling summer breezes from the northwest into the court.
