Clovis Unified School District
Fresno, CA - 1987
The elementary school is divided into three academic units reflecting the competitive spirit of the district. The units compete with one another in athletic and educational endeavors. Each academic unit contains seven classrooms. Each classroom cluster includes a partially covered central courtyard and are oriented with windows facing north and south for solar utilization and vented sash to capture breezes prevailing from the northwest. Each academic unit is identified graphically by a triangle, square or circle cast into a concrete bollard and colored with one of the primary colors. The central focus of the campus is the outdoor amphitheater, which can be viewed from the multipurpose building. The administration building allows access from visitor parking and visual control of the campus. |
