Private Residence
Fresno, CA - Not Built
The properties triangular shape and narrow frontage at the end of the cul-de-sac presented a challenging problem to accommodate vehicular access with compromising a strong sense of entry and building presence from the street. A stone and steel fountain diverges from the entrance walk and provides a visual link through the glazed portion of the gallery to the river and mountain environs beyond. At the ground level, spaces for formal entertaining and informal recreation form opposite poles of the house. The curved wall which embraces the central portion of the house, allows expansive views to the exterior through the open plan areas of the kitchen and family room.
