Somerford Place, an Alzheimer's living facility, was designed to provide a supportive, homelike environment. The facility is comprised of four homes, each with a unique entrance to assist in way finding. The use of different color, shapes and themes such as topiaries, window boxes, bird houses, or geraniums, at these entrances furnish multiple cueing to the residents. Additional cueing was provided at the entrances to the Dining Rooms by the use of buffets, plates and themed art. Rummaging chests, books, jewelry, hats and purses are part of the interiors and provide activities for the residents.
