This building represents a significant investment by the District in their students. It was important that this new building create a striking “front-door” to the rest of the campus and project an aspirational and collegiate tone. The pathways of circulation through the building was an area of concentration, and the designers took time to explore how connections amongst students, between administration and students, and finally campus to community could be strengthened through design. It is an inspirational building that will set a visual and quality standard for design for the campus and within the District.
