Architect

Full-time Position
Fresno, CA

Job activities include:

  • Interface with clients.
  • Project planning, program development and schematic design (Client goals and objectives, budget, schedule, scope development)
  • Prepare building information models and construction documents using REVIT.
  • Coordinating consulting engineers’ work.
  • Work with various authorities having jurisdiction to secure plan approval.
  • Meet with owner and contractor during construction to evaluate progress and work to solve any issues that may come up.

Desired skills and experience:

  • 5+ years post-graduate experience in an established Architectural firm
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Architecture program preferred.
  • Architectural license required.
  • DSA or OSHPD experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of building information modeling (BIM) software. REVIT is preferred.

Intermediate Architectural Designer/Project Lead

Full-time Position
Fresno, CA

Job activities include:

  • Work under the direction of a Sr. Architect or Partner:
    • Participate during all phases of project
    • Help prepare designs and assist in the presentation of materials
    • Interface with clients, local and state agencies, engineers and specialty consultants
    • Participate in the coordination and document preparation at all phases of the project mainly using REVIT, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite and
  • Assignments may include higher-level work for training/ development purposes.

Desired skills and experience:

  • 2-8 Years post-graduate experience in an established Architectural firm
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Architecture program preferred.

Construction Administrator

Full-time Position
Fresno, CA

Job activities include:

  •  Visiting the construction site during construction, to maintain familiarity with the progress and quality of the work, and to determine, if the work observed is being performed in accordance with the Contract Documents.
  • Review and process Submittals, Shop Drawings, Change Order Requests and respond to Requests for Information.
  • Maintain a record of all correspondence and all changes in the Work.
  • Construction Administrator shall work with the Design Team to interpret and decide matters concerning performance under, and requirements of, the Contract Documents.
  • Review and certify the payment amounts due the Contractor and issue certificates in such amounts to the Owner.
  • Conduct final review and observations to determine the date of Substantial Completion.

Desired skills and experience:

  •  3+ years construction experience required.
  • Ability to review and analyze construction schedules, read and understand construction documents, plans, and specifications required.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred but not required.

Assistant Construction Administrator

Job activities include:

  • Assisting Construction Administrators with all their duties which include:
    • Visiting the construction site during construction, to maintain familiarity with the progress and quality of the work, and to determine, if the work observed is being performed accordance with the Contract Documents.
    • Review and process Submittals, Shop Drawings, Change Order Requests and respond to Requests for Information.
    • Maintain a record of all correspondence and all changes in the Work.
    • Assist in authority having jurisdiction review and approval when required and manage project certification and closeout.
    • Working with the Design Team to interpret and decide matters concerning performance under, and requirements of, the Contract Documents.
    • Working with the Project Lead to render initial decisions on all construction related issues or claims.
    • Review and certify the payment amounts due the Contractor and issue certificates in such amounts to the Owner.
    • Conduct final review and observations to determine the date of Substantial Completion.
  • Assignments may include higher-level work for training/ development purposes.

Architectural Specification Writer

Full-time Position
Fresno, CA

Job activities include:

As a specification writer you will perform and oversee the writing of project manuals, updating of office master specifications, researching architectural products, and general technical support resource for project teams.

  • Project Manual Preparation
    • Assist Project Teams with specification editing.
    • Support Project Teams in coordination and preparation of Division 00 & 01 documents
    • Compile and publish Project Manuals.
    • Assist Project Managers in responses to Authority Having Jurisdiction comments.
    • Use Microsoft Office and/or Bluebeam software for final publishing.
  • Oversite of Master Specifications
    • Updating products and systems according to industry standards and project experience.
    • Research and preparation for new materials and product specification sections.
    • Implementation of Code Cycle updates to Darden Architects master specifications.
    • Use AIA MasterSpec, among other resources, as reference in preparation of new specification sections, and in upgrading of existing master specification sections.
    • Development of project – specification coordination tools in collaboration with Darden Specifier’s Team and Office Standards Team.
  • Construction Information Manager
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with product representatives.
    • Support Darden Architects Project leaders in material research, documentation, and project development.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Construction Industry. Related fields may include product sales, construction field engineering, architecture, or engineering.
  • Proficient in operating in Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient in the use of Bluebeam software preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Deltek e-specs software preferred.

Since 1991, the IDP Outstanding Firm Awards program, administered by the NCARB/AIA Internship Advisory Committee (IAC), has recognized firms who actively embrace the Intern Development Program (IDP) and demonstrate a commitment to emerging professionals by making the path to licensure an integral part of the firm’s culture. Weekly lunch presentations, nearly all of them AIA Continuing Education Unit approved, are selected to build the emerging professional’s knowledge of the latest products, technology and standards.
