Darden Architects receives multiple awards at the 2018 AIA San Joaquin Design Awards
10/29/18

It was an outstanding night for Darden Architects at the 2018 AIA San Joaquin Design Awards on Saturday. The firm was well represented, and our design work received awards in several categories. This success is thanks to a company-wide commitment to excellence and hard work. It’s special to know that our designs are not just appreciated by our clients and the end-users, they are celebrated by the regional architectural community. The following projects won design awards:

New District Office Building, Yosemite Community College District
AIA San Joaquin Chapter, Award of Excellence in the “Education” Category

Roger S. Good Cancer Treatment Center, Sierra View Medical Center
AIA San Joaquin Chapter, Award of Honor in the “Healthcare” Category

Louise Marchant Gymnasium Renovation, Turlock Unified School District
AIA San Joaquin Chapter, Award of Merit in the “Preservation” Category

Reedley College Math and Science Building, State Center Community College District
AIA San Joaquin Chapter, Award of Honor in the “Unbuilt” Category

Matilda Torres High School, Madera Unified School District
AIA San Joaquin Chapter, Award of Excellence in the “Unbuilt” Category

To begin the Awards ceremony Ed Darden Jr. received the 2018 AIASJ Presidential Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of architecture and the regional industry. Ed has made a lasting positive mark on the landscape of our community and paved the way for many successful professionals. The Award was presented by Art Dyson.

As if that weren’t enough, two photographs, both of the Cancer Treatment Center at Sierra View in Porterville, won Photography Awards. They were selected from among all of the photos of all of the projects submitted. Our architectural Photographer Paul Mullins is exceedingly talented and has photographed the vast majority of our award winning projects over the last decade. These were the award winning photos:

It was a terrific night, and we are honored to have been recognized by the jurors. Special thanks to the event organizers at the AIA San Joaquin.
